Chapter 1: Seducing the Exorcist Task Force Captain [Part 1}

Part ① Opening

Kyoto, a city with a long history, is the headquarters of the Japan Exorcists' Federation, the headquarters of the exorcists who fight every day to protect peace. Many exorcists gather here and keep a close eye on the protection of each region.

The organization that supports Japan from behind the scenes is more agitated than usual.

There have been many powerful demons appearing in Kyoto recently, but last year, an incident occurred that greatly upset the balance of power in the world of exorcism.

The destruction of the Kanto Exorcists' Federation.

Tokyo is still short of manpower. Meanwhile, it was clear that cursers in Western Japan were making suspicious moves.

The curser who destroyed the Kanto Exorcists' Federation was completely hidden from the public eye. There had been no reports of his defeat. It was very eerie.

"But you need to take a break sometimes."

In the classroom, Lina called out to Yuuji.

She was wearing a sailor uniform with a red ribbon tied around her chest. The bottom part is a light blue pleated skirt. It's not unusual for foreigners to wear Japanese uniforms these days, but when combined with Lina's beauty, it naturally attracts attention. Kyoto Houju Academy, where Yuuji and his friends attend, is a somewhat special school. Many of the students aim to become exorcists or exorcist priestesses, so it also serves as a high school for exorcists. Some, like Yuuji and Lina, are already in the field. Many of the teachers are also involved in the exorcism business.

Obviously, it's kept a secret from those who aren't involved, but there are certainly many understanding people.

In other words, it's only natural that the most important person among Japanese exorcists, the "princess," would attend this school.

"Yuu nii-sama."

Yuuji looked up at the innocent voice calling him.

Hououin Sakura was handing him a lunchbox, her cheeks slightly flushed.

"Thank you."

On the rooftop during lunch break.

Recently, Yuuji's daily routine has been to receive a lunchbox made by the princess herself here. Yuuji's job is to guard her at school. This custom has arisen as a result.

Looking down at the lunchbox filled with colorful side dishes, Lina cheered.

Yuuji said as he took out his chopsticks.

"Yuu nii-sama..."

Sakura stared blankly at Yuuji's profile with a feverish face. Even the dullest person would notice the feelings she has for Yuuji.

Lina was no exception, and it was no fun. That said, there was no way she could pick up on Sakura, the princess. She opened the bag of sweet bread, took a bite, and asked gently.

"Yuuji and the princess have become really close. You two used to just watch from a distance."

Until recently, the three had been living apart, but as Lina said, they knew each other when they were young. They had gone through joint training as apprentice exorcists of the same generation.

The atmosphere became tense. Sakura is usually quiet and keeps social interactions to a minimum, but she seems to be showing her emotions, which is unusual.

It's Yuuji who is flustered.

"Th-this omelet is delicious, princess."

Sakura expresses her joy in a thin voice. Yuuji sees the image of his former friend in that figure. Compared to that bright personality, Sakura is much quieter and more reserved. Their faces don't look alike at all - although they are both beautiful girls. Perhaps it's because he still remembers eating bento together.

"I'm really looking forward to eating a princess's bento starting tomorrow."

Yuuji, lost in thought, continues to eat without noticing the two beautiful girls quietly clashing.

Evening. Leaving Sakura in the care of the shuttle, Yuuji and Lina enjoyed a meal at a matcha pudding shop, and were about to head to the mountain behind the shrine to train until dinner. Lina had not yet completed the necessary paperwork, so she was dragged along by an older exorcist, so she was alone.

The only other task she had was an invitation to tea from the student council president, who was also the leader of the younger exorcists. She must also be at the training grounds.

"Shindo."

As he was walking, lost in thought, a voice called out to him from behind.

He turned around to see a shrine maiden with a ponytail, dressed in a white robe and scarlet hakama.

"Kagari. What's up?"

Her name was Kagari Midori. She was one of the exorcist shrine maidens at the Kyoto headquarters, and was also Yuuji's classmate.

She had a dignified bearing. She had a slender body like a model. Her somewhat sharp eyes were somewhat reminiscent of a samurai.

"I have an order from above for you to stay at the shrine and guard the princess today."

"I believe my request for patrol was approved."

"The circumstances have changed."

Midori briskly approaches Yuuji. Her tone is almost masculine, but if you look closely you can see that her body is definitely feminine and curvaceous.

"Wha, S-Shindo."

"Why am I the one staying home alone? Let me go. Please."

"How can I stay calm like this?"

"But, but, you’re too close."

Midori's face, always cool and collected, was bright red. Realizing his own behavior, Yuuji instantly pulled his arm away.

"S-Sorry."

"N-No. It's okay."

Midori cleared her throat. She still seemed shaken up, and didn't show it much on her face.

---Yuuji had known Sui since he'd come to Kyoto, and at first she had seemed to look down on Yuuji, but they had been on many missions together and had become comrades in arms. Yuuji well understood that her words carried a certain weight.

"It's just in case. Shindo, the higher-ups value your abilities. The base might be a decoy. This shrine might be attacked if it's left unguarded."

"But..."

"Seeing you now, even I wouldn't assign you to the surprise attack force. You're losing your composure because you're worried that it might be "that guy." I'm sure the higher-ups have decided the same."

There was no room for argument. Yuuji was silent.

"Protect the princess well. You can do it, and she'll feel more at ease with you. And..."

For some reason, Sui looked bitter for a moment, then continued.

"Please take care of that Western exorcist."

"You mean Lina?"

"Yeah. It would be a problem if she went on a rampage without understanding the rules of Japan."

Did something happen between Lina and Midori? It's only been three days since she came to Japan. What a troublemaker, Yuuji sighed.



"...I get it. But that curse user is dangerous. Even if it wasn't him, there was someone who caused an incident of this scale, so he's quite skilled."

Midori said confidently.

"My sister's unit is coming out."

"You mean Yui-san? She's leaving the front line soon, isn't she?"

"That's why she wants to finish this problem as her final job."

"That's typical of her."
