Chapter 12 Fallen Hero

(Why can’t I find it…!)

Claire runs with a look of impatience plastered on her handsome face.

The location is a city back in Santos, a corner of the market where people do business.

While people passing by were surprised to see the Kensei running with a frantic look on her face, Claire didn’t pay any attention to them and searched for one thing.

The burning sun at sunset illuminated her appearance as she searched for the market, her eyebrows furrowed.

After that battle, Claire and Iris hurried back the way they came.

Most of the monsters had run away after their commander, the demon, had fallen.

The two of them blew away the few remaining demons with their swift fists and quickly broke through the monster encirclement while protecting the fallen Louis, and returned to the city of Santos at dusk the next day.

The two arrived in town just as the sun was about to set.

After forcing the gate to open when it was about to close, they headed to the Arzen family, the city’s administrator.

For Claire and Iris, who didn’t know this city, it was the only place with a clear location and where a hospital bed and doctor could be readily available.

The only thing she was worried about was that the lord, Burst Arzen, had announced that he would be leaving the city for a while.

And it turns out that the person currently in command is his son, Geek Arzen.

It’s hard to imagine that she would be treated decently, since he was already filled with lust.

However, surprisingly, the two’s fears were quickly dispelled.

“Hey, hurry up and get a room and bed ready. And the doctor too. Bring the old man from the park to here, say it’s an emergency.”

Seeing the group of heroes rushing into the mansion noisily, Geek Arzen smiled lustfully just like he had when they first met.

Claire and Iris were the ones who became disheartened by the change.

The two even thought that in the worst case scenario, they would have to run around the city to find a local doctor.

His vassals followed him well.

Of course, there was no way they complained about the quick response, and by the time Louis and his friends had run into the mansion, about 15 minutes had passed, Louis was put on a clean bed, and a man was rushing beside him. There was a doctor sitting there, dripping with sweat, who must have rushed from the hospital.

“This is probably Gizania’s poison…”

The doctor who rushed over said that, and his old face turned grim.

According to the doctor, Gizania’s poison itself isn’t that rare.

The poison itself is not immediately life-threatening, with only a strong initial rejection reaction and subsequent weakness.

However, the antidote was a problem.

In order to deal with Gizania’s poison, an antidote made from the nectar of a flower called Lilius is needed.

It will be exactly one month before the Lilius flowers bloom.

Claire hears the doctor say that if she searches the city, she immediately tries to run to the city.

However, Geek who was listening to her story stops her.

Due to Louis’s emergency situation, Geek restrains Claire, who is acting hostile due to her emotions.

“He’s not going to die today or tomorrow, right? ”

“Yes, this poison itself progresses gradually… so if he’s a hero, I think he’ll be able to withstand it for a week, or even two weeks…”

“That’s the story. I don’t know what happened to you, but you look pretty worn out. You should rest today and go look for it tomorrow morning.”

Geek was right.

Not only Iris, but even Claire, no matter how strong she was, she had run out of strength from the long battle in the forest and the forced march while carrying Louis.

“Claire…”

“…I understand.”

Still, Iris admonishes Claire who groans.

Iris would probably want to go look for medicine right away.

However, Claire suppresses her thoughts and follows his advice that rest is her priority now.

“I’ve prepared a simple meal and a bath,” Geek said and left.

Once again grateful for his quick response, Claire and Iris watch Louis sleep with an expression so peaceful it’s hard to believe that he was poisoned.

“Don’t worry too much”

“……………yes”

It was obvious that Iris would strongly blame herself for causing Louis to be hit by an arrow.

Claire understands what she’s saying and comforts her, but even as she says that, she can’t help but blame herself for what happened to him.

She vowed in the past to protect Louis.

She couldn’t fulfill it and her remorse makes her clench her fists tightly.

Neither of them could eat much of their food.

A new bath had been prepared for the two of them, but with Louis already succumbing to the poison, they didn’t feel like resting alone.

However, their body was extremely exhausted from the turbulence that continued from the battle with the monsters…

A guest room allocated to the two people.

As soon as they got into that bed, their consciousness sank deeply.
