Chapter 01 Burning Memories
“Louis, run away!!”
To be honest, I don’t remember much about that time.
I was picking wild vegetable with my mother.
On the way back, I was suddenly attacked by a monster.
If you put it into words, that’s all.
Only one wolf monster appeared that ony a large man with a weapon could deal with.
However, I, who was young at the time, didn’t have the strength to resist, and neither did my mother, who was next to me.
Protecting myself on her back, my mother says.
“Go to the village and call the adults.”
That’s it.
However, I didn’t know anything at the time, so I shook my head because I didn’t want to leave without my mother.
Then my mother got angry.
“Listen,” she said, “run to town.”
I had never seen my mother angry before, so I was surprised by my mother’s appearance and started running without knowing why.
“Never look back!”
I can hear my mother’s voice behind me while I can see the village in the distance.
I obeyed her words and just ran forward.
To go to the village and call an adult.
But just once, when my mother let out a shriek after some sound of tearing, I involuntarily turned around.
Unable to follow my mother’s instructions, I turned around.
――――What I saw with my eyes when I turned around was the moment my mother was attacked by a monster.
